The patterns on the work are made from impressed clay on plaster molds–which were created from the antique molds and brass stampings I have collected. The collection of items, allows the possibility to combine different ornaments collected from different parts of the world, in a single piece of work.
Each piece of the clay in pastry-shape has the potential of creating a new form when carefully arranged and combined. They were also combined to create a functional purpose, in this piece case- a lid holder and handles mimicking the handle of a teapot.
The form of this piece is made in such a way that it can rock left and right. Inspired by an aphorism of a man who lost his horse, it is a personal mantra of mine.
This piece is reflective to the experiences in Berlin.
